Nos Por Ca Todos Bem
The people forgotten by the revolution, the farmers of the north of Portugal, are given the opportunity to speak in this film : they are represented by my own mother. As in Sérgio Godinho’s song : « The emigrants, some to France, some to Death, and this way all have gone away. Except for this, everything is alright at home. » Apparently, this is a lament, but mainly it is questionning documents, fiction, the memory of rural Portugal and the future of revolution in our country. Fernando LOPES

He is, along with José Fonseca Costa, Paulo Rochal and Antonio Macedo, one of the pioneer of Portuguese new cinema, the « cinema novo ».
