Synopsis
Tung-ching’s life has changed since a car accident three months ago. The lifeline on his left hand was scratched off in this incident. A nurse told him that from now on, his life was no longer controlled by fate but had become unpredictable. Three months later, Tung-ching’s father has a stroke and is hospitalized. Because of this, Tung-ching has to look after the family pawnshop. His girlfriend, Eiko, who is interested in palm reading, wants to retrieve Tung-ching’s lifeline. She wants to know more about his life and his future. But Tung-ching is not interested to know what the future holds for him. So he starts to flirt with one of the female customer and names her Xiao De Le (« I understand »)…
Director
He graduated at the National Arts Institute of Tapei? In 1988, he started producing short films. He directed advertising he was many awarded for. He was an assistant director to Hou Hsiao-hsien on Les Fleurs de Shanghaï. Ming dai ahui zhu is his first feature film.
