Synopsis

Brasilia, 1979; une crise politique est dans l’air: un groupe de journalistes ont reçu des informations sur une affaire de corruption impliquant l’influent sénateur Machado Steiner, l’entraîneur des Etats-Unis pour une multinationale qui dénonce la bascule dans ce cas, le plus grand gisement de fer le monde est malhonnête joué par le capital américain et japonais. Alguns políticos temem dar crédito. Certains politiciens ont peur de donner du crédit. O deputado Viana resolve utilizar a denúncia como forma de conquistar a liderança do partido. M. Viana choisit d’utiliser la plainte comme étant un moyen de gagner la direction du parti. Carlos Santana, um dos jornalistas, o apóia, procurando destaque em seu jornal. Carlos Santana, l’un des journalistes, le dos, en essayant de mettre en évidence dans votre journal. Ana, sua amante, e Garcia, outro jornalista, tentam convencer Carlos do erro, pois para ela as soluções do país passam pelo sindicalismo e não mais pela política. As intensas manobras isolam Carlos paulatinamente. Les manœuvres intenses isoler Carlos progressivement. O deputado Raul Prates reitera a denúncia. Rép Raul Prates réitère la plainte. Ana se separa de Carlos e se liga amorosamente a Prates. Ana sépare et relie Carlos Prates amour. O senador Machado conquista posições e força suficiente para abalar o episódio, trocando a aliança de Prates com Viana. Le sénateur Machado positions gagnantes et assez fort pour secouer l’épisode, en échangeant des anneaux d’argent avec Viana. Traído e fracassado, angustiado pela perda de poder, de Ana e da crença na política, Carlos morre em viagem na estrada. Trahi et échoué, affligé par la perte de puissance, Ana et la croyance en la politique, Carlos meurt en voyage sur la route. Em carta a Ana, confessa sua impotência diante dos novos rumos do país e atribui à geração uma expectativa mais forte de resistência. Dans une lettre à Hannah avoue son impuissance devant les nouvelles orientations du pays et donne de l’espoir de générer une plus forte résistance.

He was born in Montes Claros, Brazil. He is a director and producer with experience in producing full-length movies, documentaries and commercials. He made two feature films. The days of hunting (2000), shot in the Amazon and Brasilia, won three awards at the 4th Brazilian Film Festival of Miami. In addition to writer and consultant on various audiovisual projects, he was responsible for importing and distributing films in the 70s, as Dersu Uzala, Akira Kurosawa, and Promised Land, by Andrzej Wajda. He directed the short Moment (1964), Moment of Violence (1967) and Belo Horizonte (1971). He conceived and carried out the project Cinema Movement, which displays free movies national universities and public squares and between 2000 and 2005 showed 35 titles in 1599 communities in 535 municipalities, reaching over one million viewers nationwide. In 2002, he founded the ICEM – Institute on Culture Movement, an NGO for the distribution of cultural goods around the country. He was developing two feature film projects: Borders of Paradise and Between pain and nothing, with this footage in Brazil, Portugal and Spain.
