La Coupe à dix francs

Fortnight 1974, Feature film, 1h42

Synopsis

A case in the news : because his boss makes one of his employees cut off his hair, a young factory worker commits suicide by burning himself to death just in front a building. There are the facts and their hidden causes. I refused to investigate the file with all its alterations, lacks and lies, and I deliberately chose to dig in the shadows. Fiction gives a new dimension to reality, to this young man who represents the awareness awakening and shows through which cracks despair flows in and drowns him. We can see then the social class morality that allows the tragedy, and how constraining this social and family environment can be. Philippe Condroyer
