James Journey to Jerusalem

Young James has been sent by his African village on a pilgrimage to Holy Jerusalem, but Israel is no longer the Holy Land they imagined – he is jailed as an illegal immigrant. In answer to his prayer, a mysterious stranger posts bail for him. His freedom has a price – his savior is a manpower agent who rescues illegal migrant workers only to enslave them in hard labor jobs. « James’ journey to Jerusalem » turns into a discovery of the cruel heart of the economic system.

Ra'anan Alexandrowicz

Ra’anan Alexandrowicz: Born in Jerusalem in 1969, graduated from high school in Jerusalem in 1987 as physics major. From 1991 to 1996 studied film at the Sam Spiegel film and television school in Jerusalem with a focus on fiction. From 1997 to 2001, concentrated mainly on documentary work, and also directed two music videos. Received the ministry of culture’s film scholarship in 2002. « James’ Journey to Jerusalem » is his first fiction feature.
