Dziura w ziemi

Fortnight 1971, Feature film, 109'

Synopsis

A young, impetuous geologist is convinced he will find needed oil in a hole he is drilling. But as the time goes by there is an interference from the home office and he runs into problems with bureaucrats. He realizes that he is just doing his work and that others do not share his zeal. He meets an older man, more resigned, who helps him in an unofficial drilling which strikes oil.

Director

Andrzej Kondratiuk

The great eccentric of Polish cinema, Andrzej Kondratiuk for many years has been living together with his wife, actress and producer Iga Cembrzynska in a small cabin in the middle of a dense forest; every few years he puts together a film with a small group of collaborators, starring himself and Iga. Part documentary, part diary, part fiction and part fantasy, these films give us a sense of their lives and their thoughts about love, relationships, nature and art.
