Fortnight 1998, Feature film, 1 h 50

Synopsis

« The necessity of salvaging these militants, both anonymous and famous, from the trash bin of History. » The action takes place in two different time periods, 1938 and 1989. Alfred Katz is a young Trotskyist torn between his passion for Mila, a model and surrealist muse, and his political activities, which are undermined by the Stalinist purges. He is assassinated after being betrayed by his best friend, a militant communist who will bear the burden of guilt until the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989. Only Vaclav Havel’s rise to power in Czecho-slovakia could have given him some hope…
