Hugo Castro is an influential and corrupt politician, participating in a plot to eliminate a political rival. His daughter Luciana spends her time showing off her beauty in fashionable places. Raul, a young civil servant, lives with his sick mother and spends his days cataloging books in the public register and shadowing Luciana as she moves from place to place. He loves her from afar, undeclared, and the girl doesn?t realize it?

Júlio Bressane

Júlio Bressane was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1946. He made his first full-lenght feature, « Cara a cara » in 1967. Over the years, Júlio Bressane has received many awards in Brasil, including that of the Brasilia Film Festival. A showing of his films has also given him renown at international festivals, such as Porto, Rotterdam, Syracuse, Paris and Toulouse. In November of 2002, he was honored by a retrospective of his work at the Turin Festival in Italy.
