Synopsis

Naura Anor is considered a social phenomen of Philippino film industry, having brocken the string of « Mestiza » (white heroins who used to dominate the silver screen). « Kayumanggi » (dark) features are unacceptable by the higher classes which patronize only the foreign films. She has a large following amongst the lower classes which patronize only the foreign films. She has a large following amongst the lower classes who see in her the articulation of their secret desire. She steadily rose to her status as superstar during a period of economic change and social ferment.

Director

Lino Brocka

Born in San José in 1939, he studied english litterature and acting classes at the Philippines’ University. He worked as a stage director and directed from 1970 numerous features for television and cinema.
