After studying screenwriting at La Fémis, Alice Winocour directed three short films that won many international awards. She co-wrote several feature films such as Ordinary People by Vladimir Perišić as well as Mustang, for which she, along with the director Deniz Gamze Ergüven, won the 2016 César for Best Original Screenplay. In 2011, she directed her first feature film, Augustine. Her second feature film, Maryland, was selected at Un Certain Regard in 2015. Proxima, her third film, received a special mention at the Toronto Film Festival and the Jury Award at the 2019 San Sebastián Film Festival. Paris Memories is her fourth film.
