Aki Kaurismäki

He was first a film critic, a screenwriter, an actor, a management assistant; he also was a producer. With his brother, he founded Villalfa production company. He wrote with him screenplays of his two first movies. They made Le Syndrome du lac Saïma. He then directed his first feature film in 1983: Crime et châtiment. He made a three part work on proletariat which was so successful in international festivals.
