The Theatre Croisette is located in the basement of the Hotel Palais Stéphanie. Renamed the Jacques Doniol Valcroze theatre in tribute to one of the founders of the Directors’ Fortnight, the Théâtre Croisette was built on the foundations of the former Palais Croisette, the original main venue for the Cannes Film Festival.
Every year it hosts the official selection of the Directors’ Fortnight and its special screenings. Each film in the selection is screened twice, the first time at the 9 am, 11 am or 2 pm, followed by a Q&A with the audience, and again at 5 pm, 7 pm or 10 pm, with the filmmakers and the Fortnight’s Artistic Director.
The final Saturday, (Saturday, May 22, 2010) is reserved for screenings of the films that have won prizes awarded by our sponsors, (Prix SACD, Prix SFR, Art Cinema Award, Label Europa Cinemas, Prix Regards Jeunes).
