He is a Polish director and screenwriter. He started his carreer as a filmaker in 1986 making documentaries for the BBC. His movies deal with Eastern Europe, from policy to great figures of cultural life; he was many awarded: grand prize in San Francisco, Marseille and Florence, Italia award twice, an Emmy award and a Grierson award for best English documentary on Jirinovski, Tripping with Zhirinovsky; this last could have inspired him the character of Yavorsky in The Stringer, his first feature film.
