Paris, 1914. In a wholestore, a young lady, Marie Benjamin, is found lying on the floor, with an ecstatic face, a piece of silk convulsively tight against her. Arrested then transferred to the infirmary of the jail, she is questionned by the psychiatrist Gabriel de Villemer. Discovering the strange and sensual relation that this illetrate dressmaker has with the silk, Gabriel won't be able to hide his inner turmoil, since he is also sensitive to the delicate pleasure that fabrics give... By then, these two individuals originally from opposite worlds, will be attracted to each other. But the war comes brutally to stop this nascent relationship. To Marie, Gabriel has been the first man she had been able to confess the secret of her intimity, the only capble of understanding her desire. This is why, despite the obstacles and the adversity, they will meet again and love each other. Until the day they understand that this common passion which bound them together can also separate them...
