Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1969, Adrían Caetano moved to Argentina when he was 16. After making several video shorts, he received a grant in 1995 which allowed him to direct his first 35mm short, "Cuesta abajo". His friendship with Bruno Stagnaro led to a first feature film, "Pizza, birra, faso", which they co-directed on a shoe-string budget. In 2001, he directed another feature, "Bolivia", which won several international awards. He has also made "Peces chicos", a documentary for television.
