The notion of paradise has always been part of the mythology of my home state, Florida. In one sense, A Flash of Green is simply a modern exploration of Milton's "Fortunate Fall". As in a paradise lost, Satan is the charmer, the man of action with all the answers. Our Adam is an essentially good man who has become overwhelmed by the arbitrary nature of life, so wrapped up with what went wrong, that he forgets to make something out now. In such a state, a terrible action can appear to be the only way back into the world. Victor Nunez
