Synopsis

After a ten year absence, Jacques Pruez, a bachelor and supporting actor in his 50s, returns to his village to be with his dying mother. He stays with his aunts Aimée and Jeofrette, renewing with the past and the village gossip...
Yvan, his father, "everybody’s hairdesser," counts on his son’s "success" to see to his old age, re-fusing to believe his wife is ill, thinking that it’s the doctors who are killing her… Jacques gets into a fight with his brother, Alain, a Bordeaux cop, about what’s to become of "the old man." He won’t take him in..."I don’t give a damn about the old bastard... Take him home to Paris... We don’t want him."
After his mother dies, Jacques learns that his father isn’t his real father… Prisoner of his child-hood, his village... of the past... Jacques wanders through the night-time streets... reliving moments that have made him different...
