Born in Spain, he studied Fine Arts at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in Brooklyn. In 1990, he went to the Tisch School of Art in New York where he studied writing and film critic. He directed clips in New York and Madrid. He wrote, produced and directed his first feature film in 1994: Salto al Vacio, shown in Berlin. Pasajes is his second full length film.
