Hippolyte Girardot was born in Boulogne-Billancourt in 1955. He acquired a taste for acting with Aline Issermann's Le Destin de Juliette. He went on to work with Jean-Luc Godard, Claude Berri, Eric Rochant, and, more recently, Arnaud Desplechin, Pascale Ferran and Amos Gitaï. Yuki & Nina is his first feature as director.
