Camille's life is shattered by the death of her son in a car accident. Unable to cope with her loss, she becomes attached to Frank, her son's best friend, who was also responsible for the tragedy. Camille's friends cannot understand her behavior and take their distance from her. Despite the scandal, Franck becomes the consenting object of her affections.
