Pablo Agüero was born in 1977 and makes all of his films in El Bolsón, the Patagonian village where he grew up. At the age of 15, he directed Más allá de las puertas (First Prize, Patagonian Art Biennale), Lejos del Sol (Best Short, Buenos Aires Bafici Festival 2005) and Primera Nieve (Jury Prize, Best Short Film, Cannes Film Festival 2006 and First Prize, Gijón Film Festival, 2006). "Salamandra" is his first feature film.
